FAQ's - You asked, we answered!
What size gowns do you carry in the store?
We believe it is so important for all our brides to be able to try on gowns when they visit us, rather than having to settle for looking at a picture and trying to decide what they think will look good. We handpick designs in sizes 4-30 to carry in-store, so every bride has a beautiful selection of dresses to try.
What are the average prices of your wedding gowns?
Our wedding gowns start at $1,000 and go to about $1,500. There are a few exceptions that are above $1,500, and also some that are under $1,000 as well.
**We ask about your preferred price point prior to selecting gowns to try on, so we can be mindful of the price range you would like to stay within. As stylists, part of our responsibility in helping you find your perfect dress is helping you stay at your perfect price. If there is a gown you would like to try that falls above your desired price point, we will tell you before you put it on and ask if you would like to try it, so the decision-making about price is always in your hands.
What should I wear to my bridal visit?
You can be as dressed up or as casual as you would like, but you will want to remember to wear underwear. Bringing a strapless bra is recommended but not necessary, because we do have bra pads in the store that can be worn with the wedding gowns. If you already have shoes picked out or would like to try heels on with dresses, please bring your own. But definitely reach out to us if you have any questions!
Oh, one more important note -- because many gowns have to be put on over-the-head, makeup can tend to smudge/smear as the gown is going on, so you may want your look to be less dependent on super-heavy makeup when you visit.
When should I start shopping for my wedding gown?
Wedding gowns can take 6-9 months to arrive, so ordering your gown should take place at about 12 months out from your wedding, if at all possible. However, if your time-frame is shorter than that, just let us know. We are so glad when we are able to see a bride find her dream dress, even in a shorter time window.
Will I need Alterations?
Yes, there are some alterations that are needed on virtually every wedding dress: the hem, bust-line, and bustle are the most common. However, many brides also need small adjustments to the fit. Designer wedding gown sizing is based off of each designer's own size charts, and they are not made to your precise measurements. So your alterations will bring in all the finishing touches necessary to complete your vision for your dress.
How many people should I bring?
Wedding dress shopping is almost a rite of passage in our culture. Many times, it truly is a multi-generational family event, and a life moment for the bride. We can accommodate 4 to 5 people in our private suites, and we love every time we get to witness a bride experience this incredibly special moment of finding her dress with the ones she loves the most. So, we want to encourage you to find those people who know you, love you, and want you to shine on your day. And always remember, finding your dress is like finding the one you love. It can happen when you least expect it, and what you think and feel is what is going to matter the most.
Always Keep an Open Mind
You’ve done all of your research, you've lined up your guests, and now it is time to go and shop! Congratulations, this is going to be one of the truly unique experiences of your life! And, whatever you have envisioned, we hope you'll give yourself permission to be surprised -- it's one of our favorite things to see with our brides. One of our stylists will pull a gown to try, and it doesn't quite resonate with our bride as she sees it on the hanger. But, then the bride decides to go ahead and give it a try, and she comes out and absolutely falls in love with how she feels, how she looks, and how she can see herself getting married in this dress -- there's just nothing like it!
